Why I recommend Squarespace for small businesses

Over the years I’ve built websites using WordPress, Wix and Squarespace, and while I still maintain websites for clients on those platforms, I believe Squarespace offers an excellent balance of design quality, reliability and ease of use for most small businesses.

Key advantages include:

  • clean, modern design templates

  • excellent mobile responsiveness

  • built-in hosting and security

The design & build process

    1. Book a Call: On receiving your 'Book a Call' form I will schedule a time and before the call do some basic research based on the information you provide.

    2. The first Discovery Call: In this short first call I will go through information submitted and we can discuss scope, budget and timelines. I will provide a verbal estimate. If this looks on track, our next step will be the agreements.

    3. Proposal, estimate and contract: I will provide an estimate. In the proposal and estimate, I will allow for a few options as we may still adjust the scope of the project after the Research & Familiarisation phase. If the proposal and estimate are acceptable, you would sign the contract and pay the first payment.

    1. Gather client information: business goals, current marketing systems, current branding

    2. Complete a design 'like/don't like' review

    3. Review competitor digital presence

    4. SEO keyword research

    1. Review research and familiarisation data and agree site plan and wireframe

    2. Map out content plan with guided content template for client to complete

    3. Create design moodboards

    4. Select and source images if not provided by client

    1. Drawing feedback from previous phase, prepare 3 design concepts for the home page

    2. Refine design based on client feedback

    3. Create final design for approval. This will form base for the site design theme for the remaining pages.

    4. Mock up design for remaining pages.

    5. Copy edit text provided by client and apply into the design.

    6. Build website including core pages, system pages, tools and integrations

    • After testing by Blaze, client should review and test website

    • Final changes are made

    • Final payment is made

    • Site it made live and signed over to client

    1. Training on how to make non-technical updates or add content to the site. Access to training videos will also be provided.

    2. A second coaching session will be arranged to cover any queries that arise.

    3. I will monitor the site for glitches for 2-weeks after launch. After that period I will check in 1-month post launch.

Schedule

The benefit of working with a solo agency is the personalised attention you will get. I make this possible by not overscheduling and working with only a few clients at a time. I do this by planning out a schedule with my clients at the outset with the expectation that deadlines will be met by both sides. This means that I can deliver your website within an agreed timeline so that you can start leveraging your new marketing machine, and I can then turn my attention to the next business looking for a website to fire up business growth.

Take the first step to firing up your business with a website built for growth

1 - Use the contact form to get in touch with suggestions of convenient times
2 - Provide some information about your project so I can prepare for our call to make sure we use our time together effectively
3 - In our discovery call we can confirm whether my skills match your needs, and I can give a verbal quote . If this all sounds good we can move ahead with a more detailed review, proposal and contract.

What clients say…

β€œThe website is easily navigable and intuitive and the images Katie has chosen are reflective not only of the company's purpose, but also I think of the personality and vibe of the team...”
